Stew Pie

Leftover beef stew transforms into a flavorful shepard's pie

Leftover beef stew can be transformed into a delicious and creative dish with just a few additional ingredients.

Here's a recipe for a beef stew shepherd's pie that incorporates the flavors of the stew into a hearty and comforting casserole:

Ingredients:

• Leftover beef stew

• Mashed potatoes (about 4 cups)

• 1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, corn)

• 1 small onion, finely chopped

• 2 cloves of garlic, minced

• 1 tablespoon olive oil

• 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

• 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

• Salt and pepper to taste

• Grated cheddar cheese (optional)

Instructions:

1 Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2 In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and

minced garlic, and sauté until they become soft and fragrant.

3 Add the leftover beef stew to the skillet and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, dried

thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook the mixture for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend

together.

4 Stir in the frozen mixed vegetables and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until

they are heated through.

5 Transfer the beef stew mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.

6 Spread the mashed potatoes on top of the beef stew mixture, creating a smooth

and even layer. You can use the back of a spoon or a spatula to achieve this.

7 If desired, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes for added

flavor.

8 Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 25-30 minutes, or

until the mashed potatoes are golden and the filling is bubbly.

9 Once done, remove the shepherd's pie from the oven and let it cool for a few

minutes before serving.

This beef stew shepherd's pie is a wonderful way to repurpose leftover stew into a completely

new and tasty meal. Enjoy!
